Want That Job.com is a new and innovative jobs and careers portal, set up to offer recruitment agencies and advertising agencies a viable new outlet, to the mass audience using the Internet today.
The initial website was outsourced to an offshore development company which promised to deliver the entire system with a 30% cost saving within shorter timescales than the local development companies which due to a tight start-up budget was too tempting an offer to miss for the Want That Job.com founders.
As is so frequent within our industry however, Want That Job.com were soon to find that these promises were unfounded and unrealistic, with costs spiralling out of control and no foreseeable end, 6 months after the initial agreed launch date Want That Job.com contacted The Site Doctor.
The Site Doctor was asked to make alterations to the existing code base to ensure it was in a marketable state before going live which despite a shoestring budget we were able to help with.
Part of the alterations we were asked to make involved in refining the current system and adding the ability to accept feeds from the other job agencies. All work was completed well within budget and the timescales agreed –much to the relief of Want That Job.com.
Sadly, despite our help and support, the initial development expenditure proved to be too costly for Want That Job.com and as a result have since ceased trading.
